Halloween is over and Veterans Day is around the corner. If you're looking for ways kids can celebrate Veterans Day, you've come to the right place. As the proud child of a Veteran I can share all the ways that your own kids can celebrate Veterans Day.
Veterans Day is a day to honor and thank the men and women who have served in the United States military. It is a day to reflect on the sacrifices they have made and to celebrate their bravery and dedication. It is much different from Memorial Day and my mom has a post that talks about the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
I am extremely proud of mom and the sacrifices that she made for me and my family by joining the army. There is so much that has come from her joining and we couldn't be more proud. Whether you have a family member or friend in the armed forces, or maybe you just want to show your thanks here are some ways your kids can celebrate Veterans Day.
There are many ways that kids can celebrate Veterans Day. Here are a few ideas:
- Learn about Veterans Day. Talk to your kids about what Veterans Day is and why it is important. You can read books about Veterans Day, watch documentaries, or visit a war memorial.
- Thank a veteran. If you know a veteran, thank them for their service. You can give them a card, a handshake, or a hug. You can also tell them about a specific sacrifice that they made or a brave act that they performed.
- Give back to veterans. There are many ways that kids can give back to veterans. You can volunteer at a veterans hospital, donate to a veterans charity, or write a letter to a deployed soldier.
